Getting Started
1. Add Your First Vehicle
Tap the "+" button on the main screen to add a new vehicle. Enter the make, model, year, and current mileage. You can also add a photo and custom notes.
2. Log Maintenance Records
Select your vehicle and tap "Add Service" to log maintenance. Choose from common service types or create custom ones. Add the date, mileage, cost, and notes.
3. Set Up Reminders
Configure reminders for recurring services. Set intervals by date (e.g., every 6 months) or by mileage (e.g., every 5,000 miles). Enable notifications to stay on schedule.

Is my data synced to the cloud?
PistonWorks stores all data locally on your device by default. This ensures your information stays private and is always accessible, even offline.
How many vehicles can I track?
The free version allows you to track up to 2 vehicles. Upgrade to PistonWorks Pro to track unlimited vehicles and access additional features.
Can I export my maintenance records?
Yes, you can export your complete maintenance history as a PDF or CSV file. This is useful for record-keeping or when selling a vehicle.
What happens if I get a new phone?
You can back up your data using the built-in backup feature. When you get a new device, simply restore from your backup to recover all your vehicles and records.
Troubleshooting
Notifications not working
Make sure notifications are enabled for PistonWorks in your device Settings. Go to Settings > Notifications > PistonWorks and ensure "Allow Notifications" is on.
App is running slowly
Try closing and reopening the app. If the issue persists, restart your device. Make sure you are running the latest version of PistonWorks from the App Store.
Data appears to be missing
Check if you are viewing the correct vehicle. If data is still missing, try restoring from a backup. If you need further assistance, contact our support team.

Your privacy is important to us. Here is how PistonWorks handles your data.
Data Storage
All data in PistonWorks is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal information or vehicle data on external servers. Your maintenance records, vehicle information, and preferences remain entirely on your device.
No Tracking
PistonWorks does not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks. We do not track your usage patterns, location, or any other personal data. The app works completely offline and does not require an internet connection to function.
In-App Purchases
If you choose to upgrade to PistonWorks Pro, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or any financial details. Apple's privacy policy governs these transactions.
Data Backup
When you create a backup, the data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account if you choose to export there. We do not have access to your backup files or iCloud storage.
